About the Course

The 2016 Point/Counterpoint XXXV Acute Care Surgery Conference is one of many Acute Care Surgery Conferences in the United States; however, our conference is the only on using the educational Point/Counterpoint format. For each topic, there is a case in favor of a specific treatment option, while another speaker offers evidence against it.
The audience members then have an open discussion on what is the preferred treatment and discuss why that approach is more appropriate. This teaching style is highly effective because the attendees are provided with the best possible information available for each treatment strategy and actively participate. The audience member leaves the conference understanding what the best practice is for their hospital.
No other conference will give you the opportunity to interact with top doctors in the Acute Care Surgery field at this level.
The Point/Counterpoint Acute Care Surgery Conference is designed to have a broad appeal to general surgeons and other specialty surgeons, along with emergency physicians and intensivists, as well as nurses, paramedics, and others who actively participate with a high performance team.
As one past participant highlighted, "This is an appropriate course for anyone who has had to take ED call or care for critically ill patients."
The quality of the faculty and the general flow and interactions of the faculty/participants lead to a rewarding educational experience.
